Land That We Love

We had a killer 4th of July! We went to my house for the weekend, and I daresay a good time was had by all. Nate got 2nd place in the 5k (and yes Jeff, there is some glory in a 5k if you finish it before almost everyone else) then "wow"ed us by winning $15 in the trap shoot, soundly beating my brother Ryan who is in the army and has thus actually had training with guns... what a man, I know.

Boston begrudgingly participated in the parade, in spite of the fact that it took place during naptime. This picture was actually taken during the parade - I'm from a very small town. They get all the kids together, dress them up, and have them walk around the grassy area at the park. Great fun. And Sarah was so helpful - she and Boston even won the "Most Patriotic Paraders" award.Post-nap, Boston loved watching Grandpa drop candy from the plane. He also loved the candy and literally could not wait for me to unwrap it :)

Boston also had lots of fun riding the 4-wheeler with Grandpa and making Grandpa push him around the garden in the wheelbarrow (he would scoot and point forward when Grandpa tried to stop). It was fun to see the whole family and be able to celebrate Thomas' birthday with him. It was just a serious party... very hard to come back home.
