Happy Birthday Boston!

Today is Boston's birthday! It's hard to believe that I have a one-year-old... fastest year of my life. He's such a good boy and I'm grateful every day to have him.

Boston's day started with Dad initiating him into the Boys' Club by way of building Boston's first fort. He and Nate hauled all our chairs and blankets into the front room and built this magnificent structure.
After church it was time for him to try his hand at birthday cake. He was surprisingly wimpy and clean. After grabbing the first fist full of frosting, he seemed quite upset that it was sticking to his hand and never really got to the actual eating of the cake.
Then we went to the park to open presents, where he got a Lightning McQueen rider toy thingy... I was pleasantly surprised that he seemed to actually like it. Grandma and Grandpa also gave him some awesome blocks, outfits, much-needed shoes (his toes were sticking out of his old ones... on both feet) and the cutest mini-man backpack. Spoiled, spoiled, spoiled...Nate and I feel so blessed to have this little guy in our lives - we've forgotten what we used to do for entertainment before him. He brings us so much joy and makes us realize just how grateful we are for the plan of salvation... we've decided that he's fun enough to keep forever :)
