Christmas 2008

Nate was ever-so helpful this trip with putting Boston down for his naps :) I think it may have been more self-serving than a desire to help though.

Christmas was fun. Boston had a lot of first's: first meeting of Santa, first sledding, first present-opening, first swimming, and first crying for more than 10 minutes - I think he now has an official position on his feelings towards being in the car: they're negative. Very, very negative feelings. It was fun once we got there though.

We went to a few Christmas parties with my family - the James party and the Nielsen party. It was fun introducing Boston to all my relatives he'd never met. We got stuck on the way from Twin Falls to Idaho Falls, however. Massive snowstorm, couldn't see the road, decided to stay in American Falls in a motel. We called around to find the MOST expensive one but I still had to Lysol spray our entire bed before I dared get in it. Nasty, but safe.

We went up to the cabin for a week with Nate's family, which was very fun. They're really great in-laws. We all got waaay too many presents, which was fun :) We sledded and played cards and watched movies and just basically bonded with all of Nate's family. Some funny moments were tricking Jes into telling me she was pregnant (sorry!), the reason Santa couldn't make it this year (Sarah Palin had rudolph's head mounted on her wall), and Dave pictionary-ing a jock strap :)

Hahaha! That sounds great. I guess it's ok that you couldn't come back and hang out with us. :o)

Sounds like an awesome time. I'm beginning to think we were the only ones who didn't get an unusually snowy Christmas this year! Cute pictures by the way!
