Big Boy

What a big boy. Yes, that is hand sanitizer and a balloon in the bed with him. This was his first day in the big boy bed, and I didn't realize he was tall enough to reach the sanitizer on top of the dresser... or that the balloon was in the bedroom at all. We always put him into a toy-less bed, but somehow there are always toys in the bed when he wakes up. I wonder how much he sleeps. But he loves it. And don't harass my big boy for still using his pacifier. He loves it too.

Step 2 to achieving true big-boy-ness: Potty Training.

I'm going to try the 3-day thing. I'm all ready. I have the 20 pairs of undies, the extra sheets, the potty, lots of Clorox, the reward treats/prizes, the juice boxes, the day of work taken off (we're going Friday - Sunday... so if I don't answer my phone from Nov. 5th-7th, this is why). I'm planning on making dinners in advance and freezing them for maximum ease of food on those days. Has anyone tried the 3-day potty training thing? I'm so on-board with only 3 days of nastiness instead of 3 months (or more)... but I'm still a little nervous.

I did the 3 day thing with Annabelle. I wouldn't say she was completely trained in 3 days or that I followed all the steps/advice but it was a good start. I think within about a week she was doing really well. I know there are a lot of naysayers but I say GO FOR IT! Good luck!

It'll only work if he's ready for it. Love the big boy bed picture and the list of cute quotes along the side of your blog!

that is what we tried with syd and it backfired on me. I will try it again in about a month. my cousin just did it and she said by day three her girl was down to having only one accident a day besides the poop ones. remember to get the toilet converter too. Syd fell in once because Addy had taken it off and she didn't realize it. good luck.

I used advice from it, but didn't completely follow it. I didn't dare train Hayden until after the baby came from fear of him reverting because of the changes that a new baby bring, but after he was trained he ended up having a 2 week period where he was having accidents all of the time anyways, so i might as well have just trained him before. Just be prepared for the occasional accidents still. Hayden occasionally has them, but I notice that they seem to coincide with days where I have been incredibly onery and yelling a lot. It's just one more thing to add to the list of what a fantastic mother I am. Sigh!
Good Luck though! Boston will do great!

We did it with Kennedy, and while it didn't backfire, she did take longer than 3 days. She had hugely significant improvement in those 3 days. The poop training was hardest. She's only just recently gotten the hang of it. But I wouldn't go another route, because she did learn pretty quickly. And having 2 in diapers stinks, so I'd definitely go for it with him!
