Hooray for warm (ok, hot) weather! Now that it's warmer and I'll allow it, Boston has discovered that he adores playing in the water. Also, he's found that it tastes better from a hose than from the tap (don't worry, it's house water - safe to drink). I'm a little annoyed that we seem to have skipped the cool/warm weather that supposedly happens in spring and gone straight to the dead heat of summer, but at least it's great for playing in the water.

Here's my family - we went hiking with them to Timpanogos Caves. It was a more strenuous hike than I'd envisioned, and I was glad Nate is in tip-top shape so that he could lug Boston up the mountain when grandpa's shoulders got tired. After the hike, we had a 5-course picnic provided by my oh-so-awesome (if slightly overzealous) mother :) Overall, it was a really fun day!

Boston got a little scared in the caves. You go in one side and out another, but he kept pointing at the way we'd come and saying "home!", hoping that we'd leave. He liked it much better when I stopped carrying him and let him walk instead. I thought they were very pretty. Nate thought the cave was built for midgets and was sure he'd be getting stitches before we were through.

We went to Portland for my friend Amy's wedding this past weekend. Clearly, Nate loves it. I have to admit that I was impressed too... the last time we went was for Jeff and Brianne's wedding, which was also in the summer. I hear it rains a lot there, but both times I've been there in the last few years, the weather was perfect. We left Boston with my parents, and while I love him dearly, the trip was infinitely better than it would have been with him (we drove). I also remembered that I like Nate - he's quite charming when he doesn't have to compete with a screaming toddler.

I guess they're pretty charming together too.

Why is everybody all of a sudden coming to Oregon? And why do we have to live so far away from Portland that we can't see anybody when they come? Grrrr.... But it looks like you guys have been having fun. :) I don't know about Portland, but we've been having great weather here. The hottest it's been is about 77. Boston is so big! Can you believe he'll be 2 next month?
hey kimberly so I was just wondering? are we going to hear wedding bells soon??? Your brother's girlfriend is super cute!!
Where do you live that it's hot? I'm still freezing. Just wondering how much weight you gained eating all those pints of ice cream...how about that hurricane on Saturday?
Yes - Kyle is getting married on August 5th, and we're really excited. Jessica is great. And I was in Portland for the hurricane Saturday, so I must have missed it. Good thing too, because I'm already 5 pounds up from my ice cream fest :)
That picture of your boys mowing the lawn is BEYOND cute. Love it.
PS I wish we would see you guys sometimes so we could get all cought up. I'm glad at least you have a blog:)
Yeah, Amy got married! So happy for her. Miss you guys.
Love the picture of the Lawnmowing. Don't let Nate kid you I trained him how to do that. Ohh the days. I can see he is already training Boston to do his work for him. I like it. Also thanks for the shout out. Oregon's great in the summer, hence you visit not live there. Anyhow loved the post.
Love the last picture! Too funny! Next time you are visting your mom let me know if you have a minute. I would love to finally be able to meet Boston...considering he will be 2 next month!! What the?!?! Where has the time gone?
